Niagara Region Public Health continues to monitor H1N1 activity in Niagara. It is working closely with other health agencies to track activities and keep local area hospitals and health care partners informed about preventive measures, symptoms, and protective measures.

There will be a vaccination clinic in Wainfleet on November 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Wainfleet Firefighters’ Memorial Community Hall (19M7 Park Street).  This clinic is tentatively only for Priority Groups.

Priority Groups are

  • People under 65 with chronic medical conditions
  • Pregnant women (more than 20 weeks or at any stage with other medical conditions)
  • Children 6 months to 5 years of age
  • Health care workers involved in pandemic response or the delivery of essential health care services
  • Household contacts and care providers of persons at high risk who cannot be immunized or may not respond to vaccines such as infants less than six months of age and persons who are immunocompromised
